Do I need to attend everything? No. The Jaggo, wedding, and reception are the main events. Pre-wedding ceremonies are wonderful if you can make them, but totally optional.
What if I cannot sit on the floor during the ceremony? Chairs are available along the back walls of the prayer hall.
I have never been to a Sikh wedding. Will I know what to do? You will be fine. Cover your head, remove your shoes, and follow along. The ceremony is beautiful to witness, and questions are always welcome.
Can I take photos during the ceremony? Yes, just be respectful of the space.
What if I'm running late to the ceremony? Come anyway. Slip in quietly through the back, cover your head, and find a seat along the side or in a chair. The Laavan is the heart of the ceremony, so the goal is to be settled before it starts — but late is better than missing it.
